Gina's Designs DT Project: 15 Drawer Storage Cabinet Featuring Kitty Scrap Post!

Hi everyone! Today I have a project featuring the digital paper from Kitty's Scrap Post. This is the first time I have used the paper and it won't be the last! I love that you can print off the sheets of paper you want to use for a project. I used the French Seamstress paper and French Seamstress Bottle Caps with Gina's 15 Drawer Storage Cabinet and the new punchelements - 1" scalloped!
One of the great features of the 15 Drawer Storage Cabinet is that you can either attach drawer pulls or use the side with the cut out for the finger pull. As you can see I have used both sides on this project.
The punchelements are so easy to use! I used my 1" punch on the bottle cap sheet I printed off. After I had the pieces assembled. I used liquid embossing over the top of the caps.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Make sure you pop over to Gina's store and Kitty's Scrap Post for some great products that work so well together!

Gina's Designs DT Project - Multi-Purpose Advent Calendar

I know it's "Christmas in July", but I was in the process of moving most of that month so I decided to do a few "Christmas in August" projects. Today I have an advent calendar for you made from the 24 Drawer Storage Unit.  What is nice about making one like this is that you can use it over and over and you decide what kind of goodies to put into the drawers!
Now I know some of you are thinking yes, they are great for the first 24 days of Christmas, but then it's just another thing you have to store!
Well, if you make it that way, but what I did was paper the other side of the drawer into something I can use everyday. Yes, I will have to find a temporary home for the everyday items when it
is time to use the advent calendar but I love the idea of being able
to use items vs having a bunch of things in storage.

I  covered the one end of the drawer with my everyday use paper and attached metal drawer pulls.
The other side of the drawer has the advent calendar. I just pull out the drawer and turn it around.
I did leave the top and sides uncovered to show the beautiful wood. You are able to decorate the top with different Christmas items.
I hope this gives you another idea on how to use Gina's great products!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Gina's Designs DT Project - Let it Snow Artist Trading Block

Hello fellow crafters. My project today is featuring Gina's new artist trading blocks! There are actually three different sizes that come in the set, I am using the 3 and 2.5 inch size blocks.
I removed one of the sides on the bottom box and used the inside to hang snowflakes. All the paper was distressed with Black Soot. To get a true color of any of the techniques I used, I applied gesso to all of the chipboard pieces in this project.  The snowflakes are all glittered.
I just love this little snowman stamp!
This is the back side of the box. Good thing I do not make my living as a photographer!

Here is one of the sides. The arms of the chipboard snowman are taken from the tree in the Winter Shape Set. Her chipboard hat and scarf are painted and I used flower fresh for the pom-pom on the top of the hat.
This chipboard snowman has a painted chipboard top hat. The nose is actually one of the icicles that is in the Winter Shape Set. The nose and chipboard mittens were colored with markers.

Please check out the blog to see what others have created using the artist trading blocks!

Gina's Designs DT Project: L is for Laundry

You know what today is? Today marks five months til Christmas! Just a friendly reminder to start on all the gifts you were going to make last year but ran out of time! Make sure you head over to Gina's Designs to check out some of the awesome hardwood and chipboard items that will make great gifts.

Today I have another new item in Gina's store, the new "letter your life". With these you get to custom make your word! That's right, crafters, the large letter will be the first letter in the word you ask for. Just think of the possibilities!
I guess I had laundry on my mind when I was asked to pick a word since that is what came out of my mouth.
I wanted it to be fun yet simple since it will be hanging on the wall in the basement.
I covered the "L" with paper and embossed the word laundry.

It will be mounted on the wall but I still need to paint it - my mom and I have only got the primer on.
I also used the new punchelements 1". These are stackable element sets that you are able to use your 1" punch with! I glued my punched paper to the plain circle. Once it was dried, I used my cleaned up any edges, distressed with Walnut Stain and glued it to the larger fancy circle. I then applied a coat of the liquid embossing to the top of the paper.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great weekend!

Gina's Designs DT Project - Paint Brush Caddy

Hello fellow crafters! As promised I have the new paint brush caddy from Gina's Designs! It is designed to fit into one of the top caddies on the art storage cabinet.  As I'm sure you have already figured out, I plan on using this as a free standing item.
While it may be designed to hold your paint brushes, I wanted to give you some other ideas what you could place in this great caddie. The compartments are deep enough to hold your smaller scissors or bone folders!

This is one of the new word stackers in Gina's store. The other side of the box says inspire!

The key element was created by our very own Gina! I was lucky enough to receive this in my last DT package.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Gina's Designs DT Project: Art Storage Cabinet

Happy July! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. What I have for you  is the Art Storage Cabinet. This unit will give you plenty of storage space! (Sorry, I am moving this weekend and am down to the bare minimums in my craft room! I promise, I will have this unit stuffed before the month is over!)

Two of the sides house a long cubbie. As you can see by the picture, it will hold larger items, such as can of hair spray and mod podge!
To get this marble effect I swirled the embossing powder while it was hot and it blends with the gesso.

You will find two large drawers on each of the other sides of the unit. The drawers are big enough to house ink pads from Stampin' up and still have room left in the drawer!

The top has two cubbies as well. Next week I will be showing you a new design that will fit into one of the top cubbies!

For those of you that have the Ultimate Storage Tower, the Art Storage Cabinet sits on top of the Tower. What a great pair!

Gina's Designs DT Project: Two-Story House

Happy Thursday!!  Today I have a "bird house" to show you using the 2 Story House from Gina's Designs. . After the house was assembled, I applied a coat of gesso to it. My next step was to extend the roof line. Since Gina designed it as a shadow box, the "back" side is made to be flat against a wall. I wanted to use it as storage and be able to turn it around to hide the inside. I took a piece of heavy card stock to make the overhang match the other side.
For the roof, I used the wider craft sticks and  several colors of ink to give it some dimension. The paper is from Prima's Lyric stack. The bird holes are wooden frames with black paper behind it. The metal filigree is from ButterBeeScraps. I took one large metal square and cut it into quarters. The perches are lolli-pop sticks and a metal flowers from CraftSupplies1.
The chipboard bird nest on the front roof peak has embossed eggs and an inked nest end
For the house light I took two of the lampposts and embossed them in black. While the black was still hot I sprinkled gold embossing powder into in. I also dulled the lamp down in spots to give it a more weathered look. The lit part of the lamp is velum inked in different shades of yellow. The velum was than sandwiched between the two lampposts. I attached it going off toward the side so I could see it no matter which way the house was positioned.
On this side of the house I have decorated three chipboard birdhouses. The house on the left is embossed with distressed embossing powder. The other two are stenciled. The roof, base and pole are painted. The bird hole is a black card stock. The grass line is three different colors of flower soft.
The tree is actually a branch. The truck and branches are painted and the leaves and grass are flower soft. The butterfly is fussy cut form my stash of paper.
The birdhouse on the roof peak is painted with a card stock circle. The bird is embossed in yellow. The inside is lined with the Lyric paper and paper from my stash. The attic back wall is painted. I then trimmed it out in flat back pearl strand from Suhafuha.
I plan on storing my flat back pearls and gems in my house. I wanted to also give you a few ideas of what else you could store in it. The bottom and middle shelves could house your paints. The middle shelf will hold up to nine of your Lindy's sprays. The attic has room to hold things as large as your distressed crackle paint.
Thanks for visiting my blog! I hope you have a great day.

Gina's Designs DT Project - Cards

Happy Thursday!! Today I have for you two cards I made for a double celebration this past Sunday; my mom's birthday and my niece's graduation from college!
For the first card, I took a piece of scrap paper, inked it with Walnut Stain and attached to the card base. I embossed the "happy birthday" and used my watercolor crayons on the balloons.I glued the "happy birthday" to the card and the balloons where attached with pop dots.
The second card is my graduation card. I first stenciled purple and yellow chalk to the card base.
The chipboard pieces were embossed before placing them on double mat. Both pieces of the mat were edged with ink. I attached all three chipboard pieces with pop dots.
I also took a small stamp that said "congratulations" and randomly stamped all over the front of the card. I used VersaMark - Dazzle for that. I know the pictures do not show it, but I did like the way it turned out.
Here is a look at them side by side!

Gina's Designs DT Project: Photo Collage

I'm back!! Sorry about the pause in posts, but I was finishing up my last semester of college. Thank you to Gina for letting me take some time off and to the talented team members for your support.

I was asked to make a display for my niece's senior recital at college (did I just type that, college?). She had a joint recital with her boyfriend ( is she old enough to have one of those?).

All chipboard pieces first had a coat of gesso applied and then different purples in different thicknesses.
Here is a close up of one of the treble clefs and the different embossing colors used.
While the embossing was still hot, I used a music stamp and stamped onto each of the letters.

I altered three binder clips for food markers.

Gina's Designs DT Project: Lace Banner

Hi everyone. Today I have designed a "lace" sign from Gina's Designs LOVE wall art kit! I plan on using it in my craft room to mark my lace area. When I have decided were that area will be, I will then make the decision on how I will attach it. For now I will just stand it up according style!
I lined the back chipboard with paper from Prima's Delight after edging it with Walnut Stain.  The corrugated squares were light touched with gesso. For the letters, I took the "O" and cut a small section from it to make a "C".  After a coat of gesso and embossing with Madonna Robe Blue Gold, I turned the "V" upside down and attached the little piece left over to form the "A."
The cutouts are from the paper line. I use a croched doily from my stash under the "A" and one of Gina's Designs under the "E".
The panels were attached together with a lovely piece of lace from CraftSupply1. I took out the ribbon that was woven through it. I then used one of my Tim Holtz Blending Tools and used it to drag the lace over the Antique Linen ink pad.
Below are the before and after pictures of the blue and the flatter-brown flowers from CraftSupplies1.
For the blue flowers above, I simply applied a light coat of gesso to them.
The top flowers (as well as the flowers on the "C" and "A") all started out looking like the flower on the bottom. I first used gesso on them and then Placed around. the one on the left has Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder on it . The flower on the right has a little Lindy's scattered on it and then the stampin up! clear embossing powder over the entire flower. The one in the middle was inked and then embossed with clear. This gives another way to color them besides using alcohol inks.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!!
