Mittens! A DT Project for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts

Today I have two mitten ornaments to keep you "warm." I had to keep these little guys under wraps until after Christmas since they were gifts. To start off the projects, I used a mitten for the base from the Mitten Micro Mini Album.

For my "Let it Snow" mitten, paper from my stash was adhered with glue. Once dry, I used an emery board to file the paper down to match the mitten. You would think I would have learned by now how to use a scissors! The edges were then inked with brown. Once that dried, I used my Wink of Stella pen over the top. The "let it snow" from Winter Shape Set was heat embossed with different blues and whites. The snowflake was treated with glitter glue. A double layer of lace, pearl trim and organza ribbon finish this one off.

The next mitten was for a co-worker who is at the 3-year mark of betting breast cancer. For this one, I did the same as above, but used the Wink of Stella pen over the entire mitten, not just the edge. A single layer of lace trim peaks out from under a layer of three snowflakes, one from my stash and the other two are from the Snowflake Shape Set. Both the chipboard snowflakes were heat embossed. I finished the layer off with a plastic, pink awareness ribbon. The oval "live" is from the Word Stackers 1 collection and was heat embossed as well.

Gina's Designs DT Project: Happy Holiday Shadowbox

Today I have a happy holidays shadowbox for you today. I apologize for posting this after Christmas, but it was a gift!

  This element piece was made with one of Gina's doilies and a punchelement 1 inch scalloped.

 This was a Christmas pick that I took apart. I added one of Gina's snowflakes to the front of the house.

The number was custom made for me by Gina. I added metal brads on the side. It is attached to the shadowbox with pop dots.

You can see the three different techniques I used on the ornaments. After they were painted I used bling on the first, a rubber stamp on the second, and one of Gina's snowflakes that I glittered on the third.

The "Happy Holidays" was cut from one of the DCWV paper stacks I used.

Gina's Designs - GDT Project: Christmas Cards

 Can you believe we are less than a month away until Christmas?? I have two cards that I made using some of the chipboard pieces that Gina has in her store.

 The first card features one of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Shape Set. I applied a coat of gesso before covering it in glitter. I attached it to the card using pop dots.

The next card is an easel card. I used the Punchelements - 1" Scalloped to make the elements that will keep the card in the upright position.

Gina's Designs DT Project - Let it Snow Artist Trading Block

Hello fellow crafters. My project today is featuring Gina's new artist trading blocks! There are actually three different sizes that come in the set, I am using the 3 and 2.5 inch size blocks.

I removed one of the sides on the bottom box and used the inside to hang snowflakes. All the paper was distressed with Black Soot. To get a true color of any of the techniques I used, I applied gesso to all of the chipboard pieces in this project.  The snowflakes are all glittered.

 I just love this little snowman stamp!

This is the back side of the box. Good thing I do not make my living as a photographer!

Here is one of the sides. The arms of the chipboard snowman are taken from the tree in the Winter Shape Set. Her chipboard hat and scarf are painted and I used flower fresh for the pom-pom on the top of the hat.

This chipboard snowman has a painted chipboard top hat. The nose is actually one of the icicles that is in the Winter Shape Set. The nose and chipboard mittens were colored with markers.
